The Touareg, an electrical powered futuristic 4x4 buggy was
presented on the car show in
Paris in October 1996.
With its virtually soundless yet powerful, electrical powered engine, this
concept attempts to create a harmony between driving in the open and the
conservation of nature.
Very original are the 18" rims with a pattern which continues in the rubber
of the tires, like this it almost seems that rim and tire form one part. The
continuation of themes from the inside to the outside gives this buggy
something extraterrestrial. Interior and exterior continue seamless in each
other. |

In 2003, on the car show in
Geneva, Peugeot introduces the Hoggar the concept car, a two-seater buggy
which is powered by two diesel engines.
Indeed, this buggy has two 2.2 liter HDi-diesels of 180 HP each, one in the
front and one in the back, together powerful enough to deliver a maximum
torque of 800 Nm. Two 80 liters fuel tanks ensure a large autonomy.
The self-supporting cage design of the Hoggar is made of carbon fiber and
the construction has been reinforced with two roof arcs made of stainless
steel which also service as air intakes for the engines. |
